Compressing And Removing Valve Spring (Engine Code ABZ). Scheme 82
- Press worn valve guides out from combustion chamber side using drift 3121, and sleeve 30-23 for support. see scheme 90: Pressing Worn Valve Guides Out From Combustion Chamber Side (Engine Code ABZ)
- Coat new guides with oil.
- Using drift 3121, press guide into cold cylinder head from camshaft side until shoulder makes contact. Also use base 3123 for pressing in the intake valve guides. see scheme 91: Pressing Guide Into Cold Cylinder Head (Engine Code ABZ) CAUTION: When the new guide makes contact with the shoulder in the cylinder head, the force applied must not exceed 1.0 ton, or the shoulder may break off.
- Use 7mm reamer 3120 to ream new valve guides to size Use plenty of cutting fluid during this step. Refacing valve seats, see «VALVE SEATS, REFACING»(ref-196861-S00032448442005100900000). NOTE: When refacing the valve seats, pay attention to minimum size and maximum permissible refacing dimension. See «VALVE SEATS, REFACING»(ref-196861-S00032448442005100900000).
