Exhaust Side Audi A8 D2

1. Use lever VW 541/1 and thrust piece VW 541/5 to compress and remove valve spring. NOTE: Tight valve keepers can be loosened by tapping lightly on lever VW 541/1 with a hammer.
2. Remove valve stem seals with tool 3364.

Identifying Camshaft Bearing Cap Positions. Scheme 79

1. Temporarily install plastic sleeve -A- onto valve stem.
2. Lubricate valve stem seal -B- with oil, then insert into seal driver 3365. see scheme 88: Installing Valve Stem & Seal (Engine Code AEW)
3. Carefully push seal over plastic sleeve and onto valve stem.
4. Remove plastic sleeve. NOTE: When installing valve stem seals, always use a plastic sleeve to protect the seals from being damaged by the valve keeper grooves.
