Removing Audi A8 D2

1. Left side: 2 oil seals, 1 shaft seal
2. Right side: 1 oil seal, 1 shaft seal

1. Remove ribbed belt and camshaft drive belt. See «CAMSHAFT DRIVE BELT (TIMING BELT), REMOVING AND INSTALLING»(ref-196861-S18807926122005100900000).
2. Remove left and right camshaft sprockets. see scheme 97: Removing Left And Right Camshaft Sprockets
3. Drive out shaft seal with drift 2056.
4. Install seal flush with front edge of belt guard. see scheme 98: Driving Out Shaft Seal With Drift 2056 NOTE: If one shaft seal is leaking, always replace seals on both sides.
5. Align camshaft sprockets. See «INSTALLING»(ref-196861-S17143440282005100900000).
6. Install camshaft drive belt. See «CAMSHAFT DRIVE BELT (TIMING BELT), REMOVING AND INSTALLING»(ref-196861-S18807926122005100900000).
7. Clean sealing surfaces on rear of belt guard and on cylinder head.
8. Replace oil seal. see scheme 99: Replacing Oil Seal
9. Apply thin coat of AMV 174 003 to oil seal.
10. Install belt guard. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (89 in. lb)
