Replace Crankshaft Seal Ring (Rear) Opel Astra G

Remove

1. Remove gearbox • see operation "Gears, Remove and Install" in group "K"
2. Remove thrust plate and clutch plate • see operation "Thrust Plate and Clutch Plate, Remove and Install (without SAC)" in group "K"
3. Remove flywheel • Block flywheel via starter ring gear using KM-652 (1) • 6 bolts

Replace Crankshaft Seal Ring (Rear)

4. Remove crankshaft seal ring (rear) • Turn out sealing ring (1) using correct tool - do not damage sealing surfaces
5. Insert crankshaft seal ring (rear) • Clean sealing surfaces. • Push sealing ring onto KM-658-2 (2) • Place KM-658-2 onto crankpin and push until flush • Place KM-658-1 (3) onto KM-658-2 and tap in sealing ring until it sits flush inside the housing

Replace Crankshaft Seal Ring (Rear)

Install

6. Fit flywheel • Re-cut thread in crankshaft • Use new bolts • Tightening torque 35Nm + 30° + 15° • Remove KM-652
7. Install thrust plate and clutch plate • see operation "Thrust Plate and Clutch Plate, Remove and Install (without SAC)" in group "K"
8. Install gears • see operation "Gears, Remove and Install" in group "K"
