Remove

  1. 1. Release harness connector (1) from ignition coil (2) • Release integral clip
  2. 2. Remove ignition coil (2) from cylinder head • Remove bolt (3) • Pull off
  1. 3. Remove spark plug from cylinder head • Use Wrench KM-194-E
  2. 4. Remove engine immobiliser/instrument panel fuse from interior fuse box • Remove left ashtray housing from instrument panel – Release 4x clip • For vehicles up to MY2006, remove fuse (2) • For vehicles from MY2007, remove fuse (1)
  1. 5. Install compression gauge (1) (commercially available) into cylinder head • Hand tighten adaptor
  1. 6. Crank engine for approximately four seconds • Observe reading of compression gauge • Release pressure from compression gauge
  2. 7. Remove compression gauge (1) from cylinder head • Remove adaptor

Install

  1. 8. Install spark plug to cylinder head 27 Nm • Use Wrench KM-194-E

Important. Ensure bolt (3) is tightened to correct torque.

  1. 9. Install ignition coil (2) to cylinder head • Push fit • Secure bolt (3) 12 Nm
  2. 10. Connect harness connector (1) to ignition coil • Secure integral clip
  1. 11. Repeat process for remaining cylinders
  2. 12. Install engine immobiliser/instrument panel fuse to interior fuse box
  3. 13. Install left ashtray housing to instrument panel • Secure 4x clip
