Oil Pump

The oil pump is located in the oil pan and is secured to the cylinder block by means of two bolts. The oil pump is chain driven from the crankshaft and delivers oil to the cylinder block, where it is distributed via channels to all moving parts of the engine.

Oil Filter

The oil filter comprises a replaceable element, similar to that installed on most Opel/Vauxhall petrol engines. When replacing, the oil filter element is removed and installed using Oil Filter Wrench KM-6164 .

Oil Pressure Switch

The engine is equipped with an oil pressure switch which is installed in the cylinder block.

Oil Pan

The oil pan and gasket is secured to the cylinder block by means of 22 bolts. The oil pan is also connected to the transmission by means of four bolts. The oil pan is equipped with a drain plug.

Baffle Plate

The engine is equipped wit a baffle plate, which is secured to the underside of the cylinder block by means of a single bolt (1). The baffle plate prevents the oil from foaming.
