Remove

  1. 1. Release air intake pipe from bracket (2) • Release strap (1) • Release air intake pipe from housing cover (3) – Pull off – Move air intake pipe to one side

Important. Care must be taken not to damage camshaft ends when removing blanking plugs.

  1. 2. Remove 2x blanking plug (1) • Prise out 2x camshaft cap using suitable tool
  1. 3. Raise vehicle
  2. 4. Remove engine and transmission undershield from vehicle
  3. 5. Remove right splash shield • Release washer hose (if installed) from 2x clip • Remove 2x bolt, screw
  1. 6. Remove blanking bolt (1)
  2. 7. Rotate engine to top dead centre (TDC) • Use rear of 2x camshaft offset slot as guide – Offset slot downwards
  1. 8. Install crankshaft pin (1) KM-6031
  1. 9. Lower vehicle
  2. 10. Check camshaft timing • Install Camshaft Locking Tool KM-6233 – Install bolt

Install

  1. 11. Remove Camshaft Locking Tool KM-6233 • Remove bolt
  1. 12. Install 2x blanking plug (1) • Use Installer KM-6231 for 57 mm diameter cap • Use Installer KM-6232 for 43 mm diameter cap
  1. 13. Secure air intake pipe to housing cover (3) • Push in • Secure air intake pipe to bracket (2) • Secure strap (1)
  1. 14. Raise vehicle
  2. 15. Remove Crankshaft Pin (1) KM-6031
  1. 16. Install blanking bolt (1) • Apply locking compound to thread of bolt – see “Sealants, Lubricants and Locking Compounds”
  1. 17. Install right side splash shield • Install 2x bolt 8 Nm , screw • Secure washer hose (if installed) to 2x clip
  1. 18. Install engine and transmission undershield to vehicle
  2. 19. Lower vehicle
