Replace Radiator Opel Vectra C

Cooling System 10 illustrations ~553 words

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery. • Detach ground clamp from ground terminal – Remove nut
  3. 3. Release upper front panelling • Unscrew 4x bolt (1)
  1. 4. Raise vehicle by half its height
  2. 5. Release side front panelling • Unscrew 4x bolt
  3. 6. Raise vehicle by half its height
  4. 7. Drain coolant • Place collecting basin underneath. • Open drain bolt (1)
  1. 8. Release lower front panelling • Remove 4x body-bound rivets (1)
  1. 9. Lower the vehicle by half its height
  2. 10. Remove front panelling • Disconnect 3x wiring harness plug • Separate headlamp washer system hose – seal with suitable means

Note. 2nd mechanic is required

  1. 11. Lower the vehicle by half its height
  2. 12. Detach coolant hose from fan housing • Unclip 2x coolant hose
  3. 13. Remove wiring harness, fan • Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) • Unclip wiring harness (2)
  1. 14. Remove side of battery support • Unclip coolant hose
  2. 15. Place collecting basin underneath.
  3. 16. Detach coolant return hose from radiator • Release clamp
  4. 17. Detach left coolant hose loop • Release clamp
  1. 18. Raise vehicle by half its height
  2. 19. Detach lower radiator hose loop (1) • Release clamp (2)
  3. 20. Disconnect wiring harness plug for coolant temperature sensor (3)
  1. 21. On vehicles fitted with A/C: Attach condenser to front end at top • Attach 2x retaining straps
  2. 22. Release radiator • Release 2x brackets (1) – Unscrew 2x bolt (2)
  3. 23. Pull radiator forwards • Pull 2x rubber guides (1) out of guide (2)
  1. 24. On vehicles fitted with A/C: Detach condenser from radiator • Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
  2. 25. Remove radiator • Unscrew 2x bolt – Detach 2x brackets – Remove radiator downwards

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 26. Detach fan housing • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows)
  1. 27. Remove coolant temperature sensor from radiator
  2. 28. Detach 2x rubber guides

Install

  1. 29. Attach 2x rubber guides
  2. 30. Install coolant temperature sensor in radiator
  3. 31. Attach fan housing • Tighten 2x bolt
  4. 32. Install radiator • Insert radiator from below • Attach 2x bracket – Screw in 2x bolt

Note. 2nd person required

  1. 33. On vehicles fitted with A/C: Attach condenser to radiator • Tighten 2x bolt
  2. 34. Insert radiator • Insert 2x rubber guides into guide
  3. 35. Fasten radiator • Tighten 2x bolt

Note. Release condenser

  1. 36. Attach wiring harness plug of coolant temperature sensor • Connect wiring harness plug
  2. 37. Attach lower radiator hose loop • Fasten clamp
  3. 38. Lower the vehicle by half its height
  4. 39. Attach left coolant hose loop • Fasten clamp
  5. 40. Attach coolant return hose to radiator • Fasten clamp
  6. 41. Install side of battery support • Clip in coolant hose.
  7. 42. Connect wiring harness, fan • Connect wiring harness plug • Attach wiring harness with cable ties
  8. 43. Attach coolant hose to fan housing • Clip in 2x coolant hose
  9. 44. Raise vehicle by its entire height
  10. 45. Fasten lower front panelling • Install 4x body-bound rivets
  11. 46. Lower the vehicle by half its height
  12. 47. Secure side front panelling • Tighten 4x bolt
  13. 48. Lower the vehicle by half its height
  14. 49. Fasten upper front panelling • Tighten 4x bolt
  15. 50. Top up and bleed cooling system
  16. 51. Connect battery. • Attach ground clamp to ground terminal – Tighten nuts
  17. 52. Program volatile memories
  18. 53. Close bonnet
