Remove and Install Coolant Flange Opel Vectra C

Remove

1. 1. Open bonnet
2. 2. Disconnect battery. • Detach ground clamp from ground terminal – Remove nut
3. 3. Raise vehicle by its entire height
4. 4. Place collecting basin underneath.
5. 5. Drain coolant • Place collecting basin underneath. • Attach a suitable hose to the drain connection • Open coolant drain plug (1) – Drain coolant • Close coolant drain bolt

6. 6. Lower vehicle by its entire height
7. 7. Detach positive cable from positive clamp • Remove bolt
8. 8. Remove battery. • Detach positive connection from positive terminal – Remove nut • Remove bracket – Remove bolt
9. 9. Remove battery support. • Unclip catch • Remove side of battery support (2) • Unclip 3 wiring harnesses from battery support • Unscrew 3x bolt (1)

10. 10. Detach upper radiator hose from coolant flange • Release clamp
11. 11. Remove coolant pipe (1) between thermostat housing and oil filter housing • Unscrew 2x bolt (2) • Pull out of oil filter housing

Note. The diagram shows the coolant pipe with the exhaust manifold removed for clarity

12. 12. Separate thermostat wiring harness plug (7)
13. 13. Disconnect wiring harness plug for coolant temperature sensor (4)
14. 14. Detach wiring harness bracket (1) • Unscrew nut (2)
15. 15. Detach 2x coolant hoses (5) • Release 2x clamp
16. 16. Detach coolant supply line for preheater throttle valve module (3) • Undo quick-release fitting
17. 17. Remove coolant flange • Unscrew 4x bolt (6)

Install

18. 18. Clean sealing surface
19. 19. Install coolant flange • Use new gasket • Screw in 4x bolts evenly until the housing lies on the cylinder head • Tighten 4x bolts (1), (2), (3) and (4) 8 Nm

Important. The specified tightening sequence must be observed - risk of breakage

20. 20. Install coolant pipe between thermostat housing and oil filter housing • Use 2x new gaskets • Push into oil filter housing • Tighten 2x bolt 8 Nm
21. 21. Attach coolant supply line for preheater throttle valve module • Connect quick-release fitting
22. 22. Attach 3x coolant hoses to thermostat housing • Secure 3x clamp
23. 23. Attach wiring harness bracket to thermostat cover • Tighten nuts
24. 24. Connect wiring harness plug for coolant temperature sensor
25. 25. Connect thermostat wiring harness plug
26. 26. Install battery support • Clip in catch • Install side of battery support • Clip 3x wiring harnesses to battery support • Tighten 3x bolt
27. 27. Install battery. • Install battery bracket – Tighten bolt 5 Nm • Attach positive connection to positive terminal – Tighten nuts
28. 28. Connect battery. • Attach ground clamp to ground terminal – Tighten nuts
29. 29. Top up and bleed cooling system
30. 30. Program volatile memories
31. 31. Close bonnet
