Replace Radiator (Z 20 NET, AC, Rhd, Mt) Opel Vectra C

Cooling System 7 illustrations ~529 words

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery. • Detach ground cable
  3. 3. Detach upper engine cover
  4. 4. Release upper front panelling • Remove 2x retaining plug (1)
  5. 5. Raise vehicle
  6. 6. Release lower front panelling • Remove 4x clip (2)
  7. 7. Lower vehicle
  8. 8. Release side front panelling • Unscrew 6x bolt (3) • Release 2x air duct – Unscrew 2x bolt (4)
  9. 9. Remove front panelling • Disconnect wiring harness connector. • Detach headlamp cleaning system hose – Seal off reservoir for high-pressure cleaning system

Note. 2nd mechanic is required

  1. 10. Drain coolant • Unscrew coolant compensation tank closure cap Warning: Only open coolant compensation tank once engine has cooled down • Place collecting basin underneath. • Open radiator drain plug (arrow)
  1. 11. Remove 2x charge air hose
  2. 12. Release lower radiator bracket • Release 2x bolt • Detach upper spring guides (1) out of seat

Note. Do not remove lower radiator bracket

  1. 13. Release receiver-dryer • Unscrew 2x bolt
  2. 14. Detach condenser • Unscrew 2x bolt (arrows) • Insert 2x upper spring guide

Note. Suspend condenser

  1. 15. Remove intercooler • Release 2x bolt (arrow)
  1. 16. Release charge air pipe • From fan housing • Unscrew 2x bolt
  2. 17. Disconnect lower radiator hose • Place collecting basin underneath. • Release clamp
  3. 18. Detach battery support panelling
  4. 19. Detach coolant hose • Release clamp
  5. 20. Disconnect upper radiator hose • Release clamp
  6. 21. Detach cooling module wiring harness plug (1) • Unclip wiring harness (2)
  1. 22. Refit radiator drain plug
  2. 23. Remove radiator • Detach lower radiator bracket – Unscrew 2x bolt (1)

Note. Remove radiator downwards

  1. 24. Detach fan housing (1) • Unscrew 2x bolt (2)
  1. 25. Detach rubber bearing

Install

  1. 26. Attach rubber bearing
  2. 27. Attach fan housing • Tighten 2x bolt
  3. 28. Insert radiator • Attach lower radiator hose

Note. Note: 2nd mechanic is required

Note. Do not tighten radiator bracket

  1. 29. Connect upper radiator hose
  2. 30. Attach cooling module wiring harness plug • Attach wiring harness
  3. 31. Attach coolant hose.
  4. 32. Attach battery support panelling • Clip in coolant hose.
  5. 33. Connect lower radiator hose
  6. 34. Attach charge air pipe • Tighten 2x bolt • Attach wiring harness
  7. 35. Install intercooler • Tighten 2x bolt

Note. Note installation position.

  1. 36. Attach condenser • Release condenser • Tighten 2x bolt
  2. 37. Secure receiver-dryer • Tighten 2x bolt
  3. 38. Attach 2x charge air hose. • Tighten 4x clamp 3.5 Nm
  4. 39. Fasten lower radiator bracket • Tighten 2x bolt – Tightening torque 15 Nm
  5. 40. Refit radiator drain plug
  6. 41. Attach 2x air duct
  7. 42. Position front panelling • Install high-pressure headlamp washer hose • Connect wiring harness plug.

Note. 2nd mechanic required.

  1. 43. Fasten upper front panelling • Attach 2x retaining plug
  2. 44. Raise vehicle
  3. 45. Fasten lower front panelling • Install 4x clips
  4. 46. Lower vehicle
  5. 47. Secure side front panelling • Tighten 6x bolt • Secure 2x air duct – Tighten 2x bolt
  6. 48. Lower vehicle
  7. 49. Top up coolant • Observe specified coolant quantity

Note. Fill and bleed cooling system

  1. 50. Connect battery.
  2. 51. Attach upper engine cover
  3. 52. Close bonnet
  4. 53. Program volatile memories
