The tendency (rich or lean mixture) of the oxygen sensor control can be evaluated via the O2 INTEGRATOR.
If, for example, the air/fuel mixture is too lean (actual value > 148 STEPS) the value of the O2 INTEGRATOR is increased in steps until the oxygen sensor signals "mixture too rich". The O2 INTEGRATOR now starts to reduce its value again. This control is necessary in order to obtain an optimal reduction of the toxic substances in the catalytic converter.
Actual value 124 to 132 STEPS = nominal range
Actual value < 124 STEPS = system becomes leaner, mixture too rich
Actual value > 132 STEPS = system becomes richer, mixture too lean
In order to be able to evaluate a deviation (above or below the tolerance range) in the O2 INTEGRATOR, O2 BLOCK LEARN 1 and O2 BLOCK LEARN 2 must also be consulted. If the O2 INTEGRATOR is outside the tolerance range, monitor O2 BLOCK LEARN 1 and O2 BLOCK LEARN 2.
If O2 BLOCK LEARN 1 and O2 BLOCK LEARN 2 continue to display a steady value outside the tolerance, an evaluation of the O2 INTEGRATOR can be carried out.
* For vehicles without oxygen sensor, the O2 INTEGRATOR must display 128 STEPS!
