TECH 1, Connect to Vehicle

Before connecting the equipment, the directions in the TECH 1

Operating Instructions should be observed.

· Ignition OFF

· Connect TECH 1 to diagnostic plug in engine compartment

The display shows in the relevant language:

· Type in Model Year (2 digits) e.g. "90" for MY 1990

· Select vehicle type with "YES" or "NO" key VECTRA/CAVALIER

· Answer display "STOP ENGINE TURN ON IGNITION" with "YES".

· Answer "AUTOMATIC SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION?" with "NO".

· Answer "SELECT ELECTRONIC ENGINE SYSTEM?" with "YES".

· Selection of engine type The Motronic control unit is now sending data to TECH 1.

If one or more trouble codes are stored in the control unit, they will now be shown in the display.

· Note trouble codes.

· Select F0:DATA LIST with "YES" key

· Start engine, engine at operating temperature at idle speed.

· Compare all data displayed from test steps 01 to 28 or 01 to 35 with the following nominal values

- section 5.1.3.

· Actuate "EXIT" key and select F5:ACTUATOR TEST

Carry out checks

· If there are deviations from the nominal values, carry out trouble-sho oting according to instructions - sections 5.1.5 and 5.2.5

Notes:
