Correct Le/lu Jetronic Fuel Injection System Checking Procedures Opel Senator B

Subject: CHECKING PROCEDURES LE/LU Jetronic

Injection Systems, TSD- 1476- E, Art.- Nr.91616

Vehicles: All with LE/LU Jetronic

The switch positions on the checking relay (Special Service Tool KM-566-9-1) do not correspond to the Checking Procedures.

In addition, at the beginning of the checks, the control unit is not connected to Checking Cable KM-566-9.

Therefore, the following sections of the Checking Procedures should be corrected by hand according to the points marked bold:

Connect Remove right front side panelling.

Remove multiple plug of wiring harness from control unit.

For this, press back retaining spring on control unit, remove plug.

If necessary remove control unit.

Connect OPEL Checking Cable KM-566-9 with the male connector to the wiring harness plug (see also checking program).

Do not connect the control unit plug of the checking cable to the control unit.

Page 6: Checking Relay, Connect

For this, fuel pump relay K 31 is disconnected from the wiring plug and Checking Relay KM-566-9-1 is connected (ensure correct connection; circuit diagram).

Checking relay at switch position "0".

The checking relay has 3 switch positions:

0 = OFF

2 = Check functioning of fuel pump M 21

1 = Injection system voltage supply, without activation of fuel pump

This avoids damage to the catalytic converter (with LU Jetronic) due to frequent cold starts without ignition (caused by checking program).

Pump does not run:

1) Check of fuse F 16 20 A (fuel pump M 21).

2) Check voltage at fuel pump M 21 (11 ... 12.5 V),
