Switch to Pressure-Based Engine Load Measurement Me 7.6.2 Opel Corsa D

Fuel Injection Systems 2 illustrations ~214 words

On the Corsa-D with Z 10 XEP, Z 12 XEP and Z 14 XEP petrol engines, mixture preparation and ignition timing is now performed as a function of pressure-based engine load measurement instead of engine load measurement based on the hot film mass air flow meter.

Instead of the hot film mass air flow meter, an intake air temperature sensor (1) is now installed in the intake pipe.

The pressure sensor is located in the centre of the intake pipe (1).

The value calculated from the pressure sensor, combined with the value calculated from the intake air temperature sensor, is used as the basis for calculating mixture preparation and ignition timing.

Externally, the engine control unit (hybrid control unit) from Bosch, designation ME 7.6.2, is identical to the previous control units.

The wiring harness plugs of the engine wiring harness remain unchanged in shape, appearance and position.

The engine wiring harness has been modified accordingly and has a new cable and wiring harness plug to accommodate the additional pressure sensor.

Technical features:

  • Elimination of hot film mass air flow meter
  • Use of an intake air temperature sensor
  • Additional pressure sensor in the intake pipe
  • Software in engine control unit has been adapted
  • Revised engine wiring harness
