Remove and Install Accumulator Opel Corsa D

Warning: When working on the Common Rail system, wait for one minute after switching off the engine. The system reduces the pressure automatically.

Important: When working on the fuel system, pay strict attention to cleanliness as even the smallest particle of dirt may lead to malfunctions in engine operation or the fuel system. Seal opened fuel connections with suitable closure plugs 1) . Closure plugs are intended for single use.

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Disconnect battery • Detach earth connection from earth terminal – Slacken nut
  3. 3. Remove engine cover
  4. 4. Place collecting pan underneath.
  5. 5. Remove high pressure line from high pressure pump to accumulator (5) • Unscrew 2x union nut
  6. 6. Detach 4x high pressure line from accumulator to injector (6) • Unscrew 8x union nut
  7. 7. Detach fuel return line (3) from accumulator • Release clamp
  8. 8. Remove accumulator (2) • Separate wiring harness plug (1) and (4) • Unscrew 2x bolts • Remove 4x high pressure lines

Install

  1. 9. Install accumulator • Use new high pressure lines • Insert 4x high pressure line • Connect 2x wiring harness plugs • Tighten 2x bolt 25 Nm
  2. 10. Attach fuel return line to accumulator • Fasten clamp
  3. 11. Attach 4x high pressure line from accumulator to injector • Tighten 4x union nut M14 28 Nm • Tighten 4x union nut M12 24 Nm
  4. 12. Install high pressure line from high pressure pump to accumulator • Use new high pressure line • Tighten union nut M14 28 Nm • Tighten union nut M12 24 Nm
  5. 13. Install engine cover
  6. 14. Connect battery • Attach earth connection to earth terminal – Tighten nut
  7. 15. Program volatile memories
  8. 16. Close bonnet
