Engine Compression Test Opel Agila B

The following method of engine compression test applies to the K10B engine and the K12B engine.

Note. Engine is to be at normal operating temperature.

Remove

1. 1. Release air cleaner housing from cylinder head cover • Pull off to release 2x rubber locator
2. 2. Remove air cleaner housing and air cleaner element from cover (1) • Release air cleaner housing from cover – Release 2x clip (2), 2x locator

3. 3. For K10B engine, disconnect 3x harness connector (2) from 3x ignition coil module (3)
4. 4. For K12B engine, disconnect 4x harness connector (2) from 4x ignition coil module (3)
5. 5. For K10B engine remove 3x ignition coil module from 3x spark plug • Remove 3x bolt (1)
6. 6. For K12B engine, remove 4x ignition coil module from 4x spark plug • Remove 4x bolt (1)

7. 7. For K10B engine, remove 3x spark plug from cylinder head • Use Spark Plug Wrench KM-194-E
8. 8. For K12B engine, remove 4x spark plug from cylinder head • Use Spark Plug Wrench KM-194-E

Measure

9. 9. Install Compression Test Adapter EN-49118 (2) to Adapter EN-49119 (1)

10. 10. Install adapter assembly (1) to spark plug hole of No. 1 cylinder
11. 11. Install compression tester (2) (commercially available) to adapter assembly

12. 12. Crank engine and measure compression for cylinder No. 1

Note. Standard pressure is 1300 kPa (1.3 bar) . Minimum permissible pressure is 1000 kPa (1 bar) .

13. 13. Remove compression tester from adapter assembly
14. 14. Remove adapter assembly from spark plug hole of No. 1 cylinder
15. 15. Repeat procedure for cylinders No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4

Note. Maximum permissible pressure difference between any two cylinders is 100 kPa (1 bar) .

Install

16. 16. For K10B engine, install 3x new spark plug to cylinder head 18 Nm • Use Spark Plug Wrench KM-194-E
17. 17. For K12B engine, install 4x new spark plug to cylinder head 18 Nm • Use Spark Plug Wrench KM-194-E

18. 18. For K10B engine, install 3x ignition coil module (3) to 3x spark plug • Install 3x bolt (1) 11 Nm
19. 19. For K12B engine, install 4x ignition coil module (3) to 4x spark plug • Install 4x bolt (1) 11 Nm
20. 20. For K10B engine, connect 3x harness connector (2) to 3x ignition coil module
21. 21. For K12B engine, connect 4x harness connector (2) to 4x ignition coil module

22. 22. Install air cleaner element and air cleaner housing to cover (1) • Secure cover to air cleaner housing – Secure 2x locator, then secure 2x clip (2)
23. 23. Secure air cleaner housing to cylinder head cover • Push on to secure 2x rubber locator
