Remove
- 1. Clean fuel pipe connections before you disconnect them • Use compressed air
- 2. Make sure engine is cold
- 3. Put gear lever into neutral
- 4. Apply parking brake
- 5. Remove fuse box cover • Release clip
- 6. Remove fuel pump relay (1) from fuse box (2)
- 7. Remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapour pressure from fuel tank, then reinstall cap
- 8. Start engine and run it until engine stops because of lack of fuel
- 9. Repeat cranking engine 2 to 3 times, for about 3 seconds each time, in order to depressurise fuel system
- 10. Release fuel feed hose (2) from fuel delivery pipe • Release clip
- 11. Install tool adaptor (1) CH-49151 and fuel pressure gauge tool KM-J-34730-91J between fuel supply pipe and fuel distribution pipe
- 12. Check the battery is 11 volts or more
- 13. Measure fuel pressure with fuel pump operating and engine stopped • Turn ignition switch on to operate fuel pump and after 2 seconds turn it off, repeat this 3 or 4 times and then check fuel pressure, standard pressure is 375 - 385 kPa
Note. 2x technician are required.
Install
- 14. Release tool adaptor (1) CH-49151 and fuel pressure gauge tool KM-J-34730-91J from between fuel supply pipe and fuel distribution pipe
- 15. Secure fuel feed hose (2) to fuel delivery pipe • Secure clip
- 16. Install fuel pump relay (1) to fuse box (2)
- 17. Install fuse box cover • Secure clip
