Refit: the timing housings (1)

Tighten the bolts (0.8) to m.daN

WarningThe later stainless steel gasket has pressings at (A) round the gas passage openings, the curved side of the stainless steel seal must be fitted on the exhaust manifold side

Refit

  • The (3) exhaust manifold gaskets
  • The exhaust manifold (4)

WarningThere are 2 types of exhaust manifold fixing nut

(5) short nut: tightening torque: 2.5 daNm

(6) long nut: tightening torque: 1.6 daNm

Refit: the exhaust air injection valve (8) and its bracket

Tighten the mountings of the valve on its support: 0.7 daNm

Tighten the bolts (0.8) to m.daN

Tighten the bolts (0.7) to m.daN

Ensure that the fuel rail components are in the right position and that the injector O-ring seals are in good condition

Refit: the injection pipe (11)

Tighten the bolts (0.7) to m.daN

Fit the new rubber seals to the inlet manifold

Refit: the inlet manifold (12)

Tighten the bolts (0.8) to m.daN

Ensure that the fuel rail/manifold connection is in the right position

Tightening torque to 0.8 da.Nm

Refit: the coolant temperature sensor (13)

Tightening torque to 2.5 da.Nm

Assembly (B): coat the surfaces of the coolant outlet housing with a thin layer of silicon paste (E10)

Assembly (C)

  • Fit a new thermostat in the coolant housing, check that the sealing joint is present
  • Coat the surfaces of the two housings with a thin layer of silicon compound (E10)

Refit: the unit (14)

Tighten the bolts to 0.8 m.daN

Coolant outlet housing (assembly (B))

There are various coolant outlet end pieces with integrated thermostat

WarningFit a new coolant outlet end piece to the coolant outlet housing - check that the sealing joint is present

Tightening torque to 0.8 da.Nm

WarningThe coolant outlet housings (E) equipped with a type heater matrix take-off must be fitted with a coolant outlet end piece equipped with a type lug

The coolant outlet housings (G) equipped with a type heater matrix take-off must be fitted with a coolant outlet end piece equipped with a type lug

Refit

  • The lifting plates (17)
  • Tighten the bolts to 3 m.daN

Refit

  • The spark plugs (tightening torque to 2.8 da.Nm)
  • The compact coil unit (18) (depending on engine type)

Tighten the bolts to 0.8 m.daN

Refit: the cowling and the coil (19) (depending on engine type)

Tighten the bolts to 0.5 m.daN

Refit: the knock sensor (20)

Tightening torque to 2 da.Nm

Refit: the heat shield (21)

Tighten the bolts to 0.8 m.daN

Refit the oil gauge guide tube (22) (sealing on engine block with RECTIJOINT adhesive paste)

Refit: the dipstick (23)

Refit: the electric gauge (24) (according to equipment)

Tightening torque to 2.7 da.Nm

Refit

  • The heat exchanger (25) (according to equipment)
  • The nipple (26) (according to equipment)

Tightening torque to 0.8 da.Nm

Refit

  • A new oil filter (27)
  • The oil pressure switch (28)

Tightening torque to 2.5 da.Nm

Refit

  • The deflector plate (29)
  • The two spacers (30)
  • The cylinder head cover (31) with a new seal

Cylinder head cover with 8 mm diameter securing hole

Fit the new seal washers beneath the nuts

Tightening torque to 1.6 da.Nm

Cylinder head cover with 6 mm diameter securing hole

The new cylinder head covers can be identified by their securing hole diameter of 8 instead of

Tightening torque to 0.7 da.Nm
