How to Check the Timing Opel Vivaro A

Remove

1. 1. Raise and support vehicle
2. 2. Remove engine undershield from vehicle
3. 3. Remove right splash shield • Remove 2x bolt, screw – Release wash pipe (if installed) from 2x support clip

4. 4. Remove Torx head bolt (1) from cylinder block for installation of Positioning Pin KM-6031

5. 5. Lower vehicle
6. 6. Release harness and fuel line (1) from engine mount and move to side • Release 2x clip

7. 7. Release hydraulic oil reservoir for power steering from support bracket and move to side (hydraulic lines not disconnected) • Remove clip (1)

8. 8. Remove upper bracket with engine damping block, right, and steady tie-bar of engine • Remove 12 mm bolt engine from steady tie-bar • Remove 3x 10 mm bolt from engine bracket • Remove 3x 10 mm bolt from engine damping block

Inspect

9. 9. Raise vehicle
10. 10. Install Positioning Pin KM-6031 (1) to determine top dead centre • Rotate crankshaft in clockwise direction until positioning pin enters hole in crankshaft

11. 11. Lower vehicle
12. 12. Check timing mark on camshaft pulley (1) for correct alignment • Use suitable mirror

Install

13. 13. Install engine mounting/bracket, right, and steady tie-bar for engine • Install 3x 10 mm bolt engine for mount 44 Nm • Install 3x 10 mm bolt engine for bracket 65 Nm – Use tightening sequence shown – Ensure 3x washer have free movement on bolt – Ensure 3x bolt are fully home • Install 12 mm bolt for engine steady tie-bar ( 100 Nm )

14. 14. Install hydraulic oil reservoir for power steering to support bracket • Secure clip (1)

15. 15. Secure harness and fuel line (1) to engine mount • Secure 2x clip

16. 16. Raise vehicle
17. 17. Remove Positioning Pin KM-6031 (1) from crankshaft

18. 18. Install bolt (1) to cylinder block 20 Nm

19. 19. Remove Engine Support Tool KM-6210-A from vehicle

20. 20. Install right splash shield • Secure 2x bolt, screw 8 Nm – Secure wash pipe (if installed) to 2x support clip

21. 21. Install engine undershield to vehicle
22. 22. Lower vehicle
