How to Replace the Con-Rod Bearings Opel Vivaro A

Remove

1. 1. Remove oil pump – see operation "Oil Pump and Pick-up Filter, Remove and Install"
2. 2. Set mark con-rod caps of No.2 and 3 piston • Remove No. 2 and 3 caps – Remove 4x bolt (1) • Remove bearing shells from cap and con-rod

Install

3. 3. Install bearing caps and con-rod with new shell bearings to set mark on No. 2 and 3 piston con-rods • Install 4x (1) bolt 20 Nm + 40° – Check crankshaft for free rotation
4. 4. Rotate crankshaft 180°

Remove

5. 5. Set mark con-rod caps of No.1 and 4 piston • Remove No. 1 and 4 caps – Remove 4x bolt (1) • Remove bearing shells from caps and con-rods

Install

6. 6. Install bearing caps and con-rod with new shell bearings to set mark on No. 1 and 4 piston connecting rod • Install 4x (1) bolt 20 Nm + 40° – Check crankshaft for free rotation
7. 7. Install oil pump – see operation "Oil Pump and Pick-up Filter, Remove and Install"
