How to Check the Compression Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Remove pipe (1) from intercooler and intake manifold • Release 2x clip
  1. 2. Remove engine cover insulation • Remove 3x cap (1), 3x bolt
  1. 3. Disconnect air intake ducting from air cleaner assembly (1) • Release 2x clip
  1. 4. Disconnect harness connector (1) from mass air flow meter
  2. 5. Release harness from clip (2) on air cleaner assembly
  1. 6. Disconnect air intake hose for turbocharger from mass air flow meter • Release clip
  2. 7. Release harness and fuel pipe from 2x clip on air cleaner assembly
  3. 8. Remove air cleaner assembly from 2x bracket • Remove nut, washer (1) • Remove nut, washer (2)
  1. 9. Remove 4x glow plug • Disconnect harness connector (2) from glow plug • Remove glow plug (1) from cylinder head
  1. 10. Remove left ashtray housing from instrument panel • Release 4x clip
  2. 11. Remove engine immobiliser/instrument panel fuse from interior fuse box

Measure

  1. 12. Install Adapter KM-6241 to glow plug hole of No. 1 cylinder • Use Wrench KM-6269
  2. 13. Install compression tester (commercially available) to Adapter KM-6241
  3. 14. Crank engine and measure compression for cylinder No. 1

Note. 2x technician are required.

  1. 15. Release pressure from compression tester after test
  2. 16. Remove compression tester from Adapter KM-6241
  3. 17. Remove Adapter KM-6241 from glow plug hole of No. 1 cylinder • Use Wrench KM-6269
  4. 18. Repeat steps 12 to 17 for cylinders No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4

Install

  1. 19. Install 4x glow plug to cylinder head • Install glow plug (1) 15 Nm • Connect harness connector (2)
  1. 20. Install engine immobiliser/instrument panel fuse to interior fuse box
  2. 21. Install left ashtray housing to instrument panel • Secure 4x clip
  1. 22. Install air cleaner assembly to 2x bracket • Install washer (2), nut 8 Nm • Install washer (1), nut 10 Nm
  1. 23. Secure wiring harness and fuel pipe to 2x clip on air cleaner assembly
  2. 24. Connect air intake hose for turbocharger to mass air flow meter • Secure clip
  3. 25. Connect harness connector (1) to mass air flow meter
  4. 26. Secure harness to clip (2) on air cleaner assembly
  1. 27. Connect air intake ducting to air cleaner assembly (1) • Secure 2x clip
  1. 28. Install engine cover insulation • Install 3x bolt, 3x cap (1)
  1. 29. Install pipe (1) to intercooler and intake manifold • Secure 2x clip
