1. Remove oil level dipstick/filler cap from guide tube
2. Raise vehicle
3. Remove engine undershield from vehicle
4. Position oil drain container, remove oil filter using Tool KM-6164
Note. Observe the relevant environmental requirements when disposing of used oil filters.
5. Install oil filter, lubricate sealing ring, using Tool KM-6164
- Tighten oil filter 3/4 of a turn after making contact with engine block surface
6. Install engine undershield to vehicle
7. Lower vehicle
8. Install oil level dipstick/filler cap to guide tube
Note. A characteristic of F9Q engines is that on refill, engine oil may take time to reach the oil pan. To avoid engine damage, check that sufficient oil shows on the dipstick before starting the engine.
9. Run engine to prime oil filter
Note. Wait approximately 15 minutes before checking oil level to allow normal oil accumulation in engine to drain into oil pan.
10. Stop engine and check oil level top-up to correct level
