Oxygen Sensors
The Z 22 SE engine is equipped with two heated oxygen sensors.
The first oxygen sensor (1) is installed directly downstream of the starting catalytic converter at the exhaust manifold and determines the residual oxygen content of the pre–purified exhaust gasses for mixture correction.
The second oxygen sensor (2) is installed behind the catalytic converter and determines the residual oxygen content of the purified exhaust gases. The second oxygen sensor thus monitors the function of the exhaust emission control system.
