Accelerator Pedal Module (Electronic Accelerator Pedal)
The accelerator pedal module (1) is an electronic accelerator pedal with two integrated loop potentiometers (pedal sensors) with separate power supplies. The accelerator pedal position is determined and electronically transmitted to the control unit via the potentiometers.
The output signal of the pedal sensor is the main influencing factor on the throttle valve opening angle and thus the fuel injection quantity. Both loop potentiometers have curves with positive slopes. The first pedal sensor has a control range of 1.0 volts to 4.2 volts. The second pedal sensor is used to control the first sensor and has a control range of 0.5 volts to 2.1 volts. The control ranges of both potentiometers are designed so that both can never supply the same output voltage during fault–free operation.
