Engine Control Unit
The engine control unit in the Z 22 SE engine is a composite design and attached to the intake module / intake manifold. The engine control unit has 2 separate plug connections for each 64–pin compact plug.
The principal features of the composite–design control units are:
- Compact design
- Installed in engine compartment
- Separate wiring harness plug for body and engine wiring harness connections
The composite–design control units enable a compact design which is insensitive to impact, vibration and temperature. It is therefore also possible to install the control unit in the engine compartment, enabling shorter routing of the wiring harness.
The engine control unit has separate wiring harness plugs for the body and engine wiring harnesses. This design allows the body wiring harness to be decoupled easily from the engine control unit, ensuring quicker removal and installation of the engine.
