How to Replace the Residual Oil Quantity Sensor Opel Meriva A

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Raise vehicle all the way
  3. 3. Place collecting basin underneath
  4. 4. Drain engine oil • Unscrew oil drain bolt (1) • Replace seal • Tighten oil drain bolt 20 Nm
  1. 5. Remove lower part of oil pan (1) • Unscrew 15x bolts • Detach lower part of oil pan with KM-J-37228
  1. 6. Remove residual oil quantity sensor • Disconnect wiring harness plug (4) • Release retaining clamp (3) • Unscrew 3x bolts (1 and 2)
  1. 7. Detach residual oil quantity sensor from retaining plate • Unscrew 2x nut

Install

  1. 8. Attach residual oil quantity sensor to retaining plate • Tighten 2x nuts 8 Nm
  2. 9. Install residual oil quantity sensor • Connect wiring harness plug • Clamp retaining clip • Tighten 3x bolts 24 Nm
  3. 10. Clean sealing surfaces. • Lower part of oil pan • Upper part of oil pan
  4. 11. Install lower section of oil pan • Apply a bead of silicone sealing compound to sealing surfaces of lower part of oil pan • Tighten 15x bolts 10 Nm

Note. Select a suitable sealing compound from the replacement parts catalogue

  1. 12. Lower vehicle all the way
  2. 13. Top up engine oil
  3. 14. Close bonnet
