OHC Diesel Engine S8U
General
The S8U unit is a four - cylinder, single overhead camshaft, 2.5 litre diesel engine, employing indirect injection.
Special features of the engine include:
· A cylinder block of rigid construction, the block being split along the horizontal plane of the crankshaft main bearings.
· A separate ancillary unit that drives the fuel injection pump, oil pump, vacuum pump and power steering pump.
· A belt - driven camshaft and ancillary drive unit.
