Engine Timing

The timing belt is driven by the crankshaft to drive the fuel injection pump and the camshaft.

The tension roller is installed to set the tension on the timing belt. An adjustor screw initially sets the tension on the timing belt, then the bracket for the tension roller is clamped to the cylinder block.

A set of three covers conceals the timing belt.

· Service

The timing belt must be replaced every 120 000 km / 80 000 miles.

Cylinder number 1 is located at the flywheel end of the cylinder block.
