DTC P0105 - ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (AP) SENSOR Nissan Maxima A32

  1. Check Power Supply Turn ignition off. Disconnect AP sensor harness connector. See «REMOVE/INSTALL/OVERHAUL»(ref-17990) article for AP sensor location. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between AP harness connector terminal No. 3 (Red wire) and engine ground. If voltage is not approximately 5 volts, repair fault in Red wire as required. If voltage is approximately 5 volts, go to next step.
  2. Check Ground Circuit Turn ignition off. Loosen and retighten ground screws. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between AP harness connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and ground. If no continuity exists, repair open in Black wire. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  3. Check Input Signal Circuit Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. (Схема №2) Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between AP harness connector terminal No. 2 (White wire) ECM harness connector terminal No. 61. (Схема №3) If no continuity exists, repair open in White wire as required. If continuity exists, go to next step.
  4. Check Vacuum Source Start engine and allow it to warm up. Disconnect vacuum hose to AP sensor. Using a vacuum gauge, check vacuum at idle is approximately 20.87 inch Hg vacuum. If measured vacuum is not as specified, check vacuum hose for clogging, cracks or improper connection. Repair or replace as required. Check intake system for air leaks. If measured vacuum is as specified, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Check hose between AP sensor and MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve for clogging, cracks or improper connection. Repair or replace hose as required. If hose is okay, go to next step.
  6. Check Component Remove AP sensor and reconnect harness connector. Disconnect vacuum hose from AP sensor. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, backprobe AP sensor harness connector terminal No. 2 (middle terminal). Apply vacuum of 3.9 in Hg. Measured voltage should be about 0.5 volts. Apply vacuum of 31.5 in Hg. Measured voltage should be about 4.6 volts.
  7. If voltage is not as specified, replace AP sensor. If voltage is as specified, disconnect and reconnect harness connectors in circuit and perform «FINAL CHECK»(ref-17943-S12355810372001121700000), see appropriate section in this article.
