Engine Control Module (ECM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes - 13 of 13: Wiring Volvo XC90 I

CHECKING COMPONENTS AND WIRING

  1. Ignition off
  2. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM). Check the signal cable for short-circuit to ground. Measure between control module terminal #A63 (#B3) and oil level sensor terminal #1. Remedy as necessary. Other information see «CONNECTING THE BREAKOUT BOX»(ref-476691-S27857399862012060500000) see «SIGNAL SPECIFICATION, ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)»(ref-476694-S30016655152012060500000) see «OIL LEVEL SENSOR, REPLACING»(ref-494730-S12099581232012081600000) see «CONTENTS»(ref-476689-S17283010372012060500000)

  1. Ignition off
  2. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector. Check the signal cable for short-circuit to supply voltage.

  1. Ignition off The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if there is no communication between the engine control module (ECM) and the alternator control module (ACM). This may be due to a fault in the signal cable between the control modules or a damaged communication device in one or all of the control modules. HINT: This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be stored if a generator (GEN) with a charge regulator not intended for LIN communication is installed. Check the connector on the alternator control module (ACM). Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check the signal cable for open circuit, short circuit to ground and short circuit to supply voltage. Take readings between engine control module (ECM) terminal #A25 (A#25) and the alternator control module (ACM). Remedy as necessary. Other information see «CONNECTING THE BREAKOUT BOX»(ref-476691-S30437390172012060500000) see «SIGNAL SPECIFICATION»(ref-476694-S14228516802012060500000) see «CHECKING WIRING AND TERMINALS»(ref-476689-S17655503092012060500000)
