Therefore it will only be possible to read off the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) if this type of fault is intermittent. When the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored, the engine control module (ECM) responds to the diagnostic commands. However normal control area network (CAN) communication does not work ("Expulsion mode").
