Remove
Remove screen wiper motor – see operation "Screen Wiper Motor, Front Screen, Remove and Install" in group "N".
Disconnect air intake hose (1) from upper part of air cleaner housing and lay to one side.
Remove upper left charge air hose (2) and charge air hose lower right (3).
In vehicles with air conditioning:
Disconnect coolant line bracket (4) from engine transport shackle and lay coolant line to side.
Install engine bridge MKM-883-1 together with retaining hook MKM -883-4-A. Attach additional engine transporting strap KM-6014 (1) with enclosed bolt (2) to bore in timing case.
Attach engine to engine bridge and slightly take up strain (3).
Remove lower engine compartment cover and remove front exhaust pipe from return manifold / starting catalytic converter.
Remove engine damping block fastening nuts from engine damping block bracket and front axle body.
Carefully raise engine with engine bridge and remove engine damping blocks.
Install
Insert engine damping block – guide pin (1) must sit in bracket of front axle body. Lower engine via engine bridge.
Engine damping block to front axle body – tightening torque 55 Nm / 40.5 lbf. ft.
Engine damping block to engine damping block bracket – tightening torque 40 Nm / 29.5 lbf. ft.
Attach front exhaust pipe to return manifold / starting catalytic converter with new gasket and new fastening nuts – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.
Attach lower engine compartment cover - tightening torque 5 Nm / 3.7 lbf. ft.
Remove engine bridge MKM-883-1 together with retaining hook MKM-883-4-A and additional engine transportation strap KM-6014.
In vehicles with air conditioning:
Connect coolant line with coolant line bracket to engine transport shackle.
Install both charge air hoses – tightening torque 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.
Attach air intake hose to upper part of air cleaner housing – tightening torque 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.
Install screen wiper motor – see operation "Screen Wiper Motor, Front Screen, Remove and Install" in group "N".
