How to Replace the Engine Damping Blocks Opel Calibra I

Engine Damping Blocks, Replace

Disconnect ground cable from battery.

Remove upper engine cover (1) and air duct (2) for alternator cooling fan.

Disconnect wiring harness plug (3) for oxygen sensor.

Separate front exhaust pipe (1) from both exhaust manifolds and from catalytic converter flange.

Air intake hose from upper part of air cleaner housing.

Attach engine to Engine Holder KM-263-B.

Replace front right engine damping block.

Right engine damping block (1) from side member.

Slowly lower engine.

Remove fastening bolts (1) for engine damping block bracket from auxiliary aggregates support, remove engine damping block bracket with engine damping block.

Engine damping block from engine damping block bracket.

Engine damping block to engine damping block bracket - 35 Nm/26 lbf. ft.

Fastening bolts (1) for engine damping block bracket to auxiliary aggregates support - 60 Nm/44 lbf. ft.

Slowly lower engine.

Right engine damping block (1) to side member -

65 Nm/48 lbf. ft. 1)

1) Recut thread and insert bolts with

Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Replace front left engine damping block.

Engine damping block (1) from side member, engine damping block from engine bracket (2).

Engine damping block to side member -

65 Nm/48 lbf. ft. 1).

Engine damping block to engine bracket -

60 Nm/44 lbf. ft.

1) Recut thread and insert bolts with

Locking Compound 15 10 177 (90 167 347).

Replace rear engine damping block.

Fastening nuts (1) from front axle body.

Fastening bolts (2) from engine bracket.

Remove rear engine damping block.

Engine damping block to engine bracket -

45 Nm/33 lbf. ft.

Engine damping block to front axle body -

40 Nm/29.5 lbf. ft.

Attach front exhaust pipe (1) to both exhaust manifolds and to catalytic converter flange -

25 Nm/18 lbf. ft.

Detach engine from Engine Holder KM-263-B.

Air intake hose to upper part of air cleaner housing.

Connect wiring harness plug (3) for oxygen sensor.

Install upper engine cover (1) and air duct (2) for alternator cooling fan.

Connect ground cable to battery.
