Adjust on cold engine - room temperature.

Timing adjustment always begins with adjustment of the camshaft pulleys for cylinders 2-4-6.

When the toothed belt tension roller or toothed belt guide rollers are loosened, the crankshaft and the camshafts must not be turned - the toothed belt can jump over.

.D. ICON08.tif0,750,75tiff;; Adjust

Adjustment of camshaft pulleys for cylinders 2-4-6.

Set Test Gauge KM-800-20 (1) on camshaft pulleys.

Loosen toothed belt guide roller (2).

Option 1:

Marks (1) on camshaft pulleys are in front of marks on test gauge - i.e. in front of TDC point.

Turn eccentric on toothed belt guide roller (2) in direction of arrow (counter-clockwise).

Marks (1) on camshaft pulleys are thus turned clockwise towards TDC point.

.D. ICON08.tif0,750,75tiff;; Adjust

Turn eccentric on toothed belt guide roller further until marks on camshaft pulleys align with Test Gauge KM-800-20.

Fasten toothed belt guide roller - 40 Nm/29.5 lbf. ft.

Option 2:

Marks (1) on camshaft pulleys are behind the marks on the test gauge - i.e. behind TDC point.

Turn eccentric on toothed belt guide roller (2) in direction of arrow (clockwise).

Marks (1) on camshaft pulleys are thus turned counter-clockwise towards TDC point.

.D. ICON08.tif0,750,75tiff;; Adjust

Turn eccentric on toothed belt guide roller further until marks on camshaft pulleys align with Test Gauge KM-800-20.

Even if the camshaft pulleys cannot be turned back far enough towards the TDC point, fasten the toothed belt guide roller - 40 Nm/29.5 lbf. ft.

.P. F1835.tif916tiff;;
.D. ICON08.tif0,750,75tiff;; Adjust

Remove KM-800-10 and KM-800-20.

At fastening bolt of toothed belt drive gear, turn crankshaft two turns (720°) in engine rotational direction to just in front of the TDC mark (3).

Notches on camshaft pulleys (1) are just in front of marks (2) on rear toothed belt cover.

.D. ICON06.tif0,750,75tiff;; Inspect

Install KM-800-10 again. Using Test Gauge KM-800-20, check adjustment, repeat relevant adjustment procedure if necessary.
