Removing and Installing Vacuum Container Opel Astra G

Remove

  1. 1. Raise vehicle • Half way up
  2. 2. Remove right front wheel
  3. 3. Remove lower engine compartment cover • Remove fastening bolts (2), (4), (5), (6) and (7) • Remove body-bound rivets (1) and (3)
  1. 4. Detach inner wheel arch panelling • Remove body-bound rivet – 2 items • Remove bolts – 5 bolts • Push wheel arch panelling backward
  2. 5. Remove vacuum container (2) • Remove vacuum hose (1) • Unscrew nut (3)
  3. 6. Push vacuum container (2) upward and remove

Install

  1. 7. Install vacuum container • Insert into bracket from above and push down • Install fastening nut • Attach vacuum hose
  2. 8. Attach inner wheel arch panelling
  3. 9. Attach lower engine compartment cover • Install fastening bolts (2), (4), (5), (6) and (7) • Install body-bound rivets (1) and (3)

Note. During installation, ensure that brake hose is above lower engine compartment cover

  1. 10. Attach front right wheel
  2. 11. Lower vehicle
