Removing and Installing Coolant Return Pipe Opel Astra G

Remove

  1. 1. Open bonnet
  2. 2. Remove bonnet (2) • Unscrew 3 bolts (1)
  3. 3. Raise vehicle
  1. 4. Remove lower engine compartment cover • Remove fastening bolts (2), (4), (5), (6) and (7) • Remove body-bound rivets (1) and (3)
  2. 5. Lower vehicle
  3. 6. Place collecting basin underneath
  1. 7. Remove coolant return pipe (6) • 2 clamps (1) and (5) • Unclip vacuum hose (2) • Unscrew fastening bolts (3) • Unclip coolant return pipe from bracket (4)

Install

  1. 8. Install coolant return pipe
  2. 9. Install engine cover
  3. 10. Raise vehicle
  4. 11. Attach lower engine compartment cover • Install fastening bolts (2), (4), (5), (6) and (7) • Install body-bound rivets (1) and (3)

Note. During installation, ensure that brake hose is above lower engine compartment cover

  1. 12. Lower vehicle
  2. 13. Check coolant level and correct if necessary.
  3. 14. Close bonnet
