How to Remove and Install the Engine Control Unit Opel Astra G

Note. For Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR the engine and injection pump control units are a single unit and cannot be separated from the injection pump. If a fault occurs the injection pump must be replaced - see operation "Removing and installing injection pump".

Remove

Note. The security code must be reset with TECH 2 before removal when replacing or swapping engine control unit – see corresponding Checking Procedures.

Remove front left wheel.

Remove wing inner protective panelling – see operation "Wing Inner Protective Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".

Detach wiring harness plug (3) and (4) from engine control unit.

Remove engine control unit (2) from bracket (1).

Install

Install engine control unit in bracket.

Connect wiring harness plug to engine control unit.

Attach wing inner protective panelling – see operation "Wing Inner Protective Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".

Install front left wheel – tightening torque 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.
