For vehicles with Stop Start system, perform the following procedure after clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) or replacing the Engine Control Module (ECM) to inialise the Stop Start system functionality. This should be performed during the vehicle road test and before the vehicle is handed back to the customer.
- 1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature
- 2. Turn off ignition switch, then wait for 10 seconds
- 3. Start engine and allow it to run at idle speed for a minimum of 1 minute
- 4. Drive vehicle under the following conditions;
- 5. Check function of engine auto stop control. If engine does not stop, repeat Steps 2 to 4 until the engine stops by engine auto stop control
Note. Preconditions must be met in order for the Stop Start system to function correctly – see “Stop Start System Description and Operation” . The ECM learning status can also be confirmed using Tech 2.
