Removal & Installation (SOHC Right Side) Acura SLX I

  1. Release fuel pressure. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-49505-S39856681012001011500000). Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove the accelerator pedal cable by disconnecting from throttle body and cable bracket. Remove vacuum booster hose by disconnecting from common chamber. Disconnect manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, idle air control (IAC) valve, throttle position sensor (TPS), power switch and electronic vacuum switch valve (EVSV) connectors. Remove throttle body by removing 4 fixing bolts. Disconnect canister EVSV vacuum hoses, PCV hose, fuel pressure control valve (FPCV) hose and shift on the fly hose. Remove the ventilation hose bracket by removing fixing bolt on common chamber. Remove the EGR valve assembly by removing 3 bolts on common chamber and disconnect backpressure transducer vacuum hose. Remove the bracket by removing 3 fixing bolts at backside of the common chamber, 1 fixing bolt at engine hanger bracket and 1 fixing bolt at A/T pipe bracket. Remove common chamber by removing 6 bolts and 2 nuts.
  3. Remove ventilation hose by disconnecting from cylinder head cover. Disconnect 3 connectors from ignition coil. remove harness bracket bolts on cylinder head cover. Remove fixing bolts on ignition coil. Remove ground cable by removing fixing bolt on cylinder block.
  4. Disconnect feed and return hoses from fuel pipes. Remove 2 fuel hose fixing bolts on the cylinder head cover. Remove heat protector on exhaust manifold. Remove bolts and nuts that secure the engine hanger to the exhaust manifold and cylinder head. Remove the heater pipe fixing bolts from the bracket.
  5. Remove 11 fixing bolts and the cylinder head cover. To install, clean sealing surfaces. Apply RTV sealant to corners of end camshaft towers and install NEW gasket. (Scheme 3) To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-49505-S22979059872001011500000).
