Removal & Installation (DOHC Right Side - Slx & Trooper) Acura SLX I

  1. Release fuel pressure. See «FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-49505-S39856681012001011500000). Disconnect negative battery cable and battery. Drain engine coolant. Remove engine cover from the dowels on the common chamber. Disconnect MAF sensor connector, IAT sensor connector and PCV hose. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect EGR valve, right bank fuel injectors, right bank ignition coils, bonding cable and any other necessary connectors.
  2. Remove upper and lower radiator hoses. Remove engine harness from cylinder head. Remove upper fan shroud. Remove fan clutch and cooling fan. Remove drive belt by pushing down the auto tensioner using spanner. Remove fan pulley and bracket. Remove idler pulley and auto tensioner. Using Puller (J-8614-01), remove crankshaft pulley.
  3. Remove timing belt covers. Remove ignition coil assemblies from spark plugs. Remove bolts and cylinder head cover. To install, apply RTV sealant to corners of end camshaft bearing towers.
