SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Trionic engine management system uses an Electronic Control Module (ECM) located behind a partition on passenger side of engine compartment. (Scheme 1), (Scheme 3) or (Scheme 4).

If any monitored malfunction is detected by ECM, Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) will display CHECK ENGINE on instrument cluster and a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be stored in ECM memory. MIL may also be referred to as CHECK ENGINE light. DTCs can be retrieved or erased using a scan tool connected to Data Link Connector (DLC). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES.
