DTC P0336 & P0337: CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR Saab 9-5 I

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor connector. (Схема №1), (Схема №3) or (Схема №4) for CKP sensor and ECM locations. Use DVOM to measure resistance between CKP sensor harness connector terminals No. 1 (Yellow wire) and 2 (Black wire) going to ECM. (Схема №10) If resistance is between 150-250 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair faulty circuit in Yellow or Black wire between CKP sensor and ECM. (Схема №11)for ECM terminal identification. See appropriate wiring diagram in «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-3491) article. Go to step 3.
  2. Connect SST 86 11 857 test light (Схема №9) or equivalent between positive battery terminal and CKP sensor connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). If test light illuminates, replace CKP sensor. If test light does not illuminate, repair open circuit between CKP sensor connector terminal No. 3 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 22 (Black wire). Go to next step.
  3. Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Drive vehicle for 5 minutes under varying loads and engine RPM. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If DTC P0336 or P0337 is present, substitute known good ECM and retest system.
