DTC P1576 & P1577: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION Saab 9-5 I

  1. Check brake light operation. If brake lights are not working, see EXTERIOR LIGHTS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If brake lights are working, repair faulty circuit between brake light switch and ECM harness connector terminal No. 63 (Green/Grey wire). (Схема №1)- (Схема №5) for brake light switch and ECM locations. (Схема №11)for ECM terminal identification. See appropriate wiring diagram in «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-3491) article. Go to next step.
  2. Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on and select BRAKE LIGHT value. If scan tool display reads ON when brake pedal is depressed and OFF when pedal is released, problems has been fixed. Use scan tool to erase all system DTCs. If scan tool display is not as specified, replace ECM and retest system.
