DTC P0133: HO2S-1 SLOW RESPONSE Saab 9-5 I

  1. Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Replace HO2S-1. See «HO2S SENSORS»(ref-2997-S20226819482000041700000) under ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. If referred here from DTC P0125, go to step 3 . If not referred here from DTC P0125, start engine and allow it to idle for at least 3 minutes. DO NOT touch brake pedal during this time. Make sure that coolant temperature is at least 140°F (60°C). Go to next step.
  2. Select INITIATE DIAGNOSTICS on scan tool and note display. If DTC P0133 is still displayed, go to «DTC P0131 & P0134: FRONT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) CIRCUIT»(ref-2691-S04897668452000041100000) . If NOT READY is displayed, return to INITIATE DIAGNOSTICS and repeat test. If OK is displayed, use scan tool to clear DTCs from all systems.
  3. Ensure that both intake air- and coolant temperatures exceed 50°F (10°C). Start engine and allow it to idle for at least 4 minutes. Check scan tool display. If OK is displayed, use scan tool to clear all system DTCs. If NOT READY is displayed, back up to INITIATING DIAGNOSTICS on scan tool and retest. If DTC P0125 is still displayed, substitute known good ECM and retest system. See «ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)»(ref-2997-S17585372472000041700000) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
