DTC P1444 & P1445: EVAP SHUT-OFF VALVE CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION Saab 9-5 I

  1. Disconnect EVAP shut-off valve electrical connector. (Схема №16) Connect SST 86 11 857 test light (Схема №9) or equivalent between EVAP shut-off valve harness connector terminal No. 1 (Green/Black wire) and ground. (Схема №12) If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair faulty circuit between EVAP shut-off valve harness connector terminal No. 1 and fuse No. 7 located in dashboard fuse block. (Схема №8) See appropriate wiring diagram in «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-3491) article. Go to step 3.
  2. Connect test light between EVAP shut-off valve harness connector terminals No. 1 (Green/Black wire) and 2 (Brown/White wire). Connect TECH 2 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Select ACTIVATE: CANISTER CLOSE VALVE (100 percent). If test light illuminates, replace EVAP shut-off valve. See «EVAP SHUT-OFF VALVE»(ref-2997-S18120883332000041700000) under FUEL SYSTEM in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. If test light does not illuminate, repair faulty circuit between EVAP shut-off valve harness connector terminal No. 2 and ECM harness connector No. 37 (Brown/White wire). (Схема №1), (Схема №3) or (Схема №4) for ECM location. (Схема №11)for ECM terminal identification. Go to next step.
  3. Use scan tool to clear all system DTCs. Drive vehicle for 5 minutes under varying loads and engine RPM. Recheck for any stored DTCs. If DTC P1444-P1445 is present, substitute known good ECM and retest system. See «ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)»(ref-2997-S17585372472000041700000) under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
