DTC P1474: INTERCOOLER COOLANT PUMP RELAY MALFUNCTION Jaguar XJR II

  1. Check fuse F2 in engine management fuse box. Replace, if necessary and retest system. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove Blue Intercooler Coolant Pump (ICP) relay, located in engine compartment, in control module enclosure. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ICP relay harness connector terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No 3 (Brown/White wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 5. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove fuse F2. Check continuity of Brown/White wire between ICP relay harness connector terminal No. 3 and load side of fuse F2. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Brown/White wire and retest system.
  4. Check continuity between ground point G121 and ICP relay harness connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open ground circuit and retest system.
  5. Measure voltage between ground point G121 and ICP relay harness connector terminal No. 1 (Red/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, replace ICP relay and retest system. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector EM13. Check continuity of Red/Yellow wire between ICP relay harness connector terminal No. 1 and ECM harness connector EM13 terminal No. 10. see scheme 3 If continuity exists, replace ICP relay and retest system. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Red/Yellow wire and retest system.
