DTC P0335: CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT Jaguar XJR II

Note. Crankshaft position sensor harness connector is located under ABS controller cover.

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector EM13, knock sensor and Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connectors. (Схема №5) Measure resistance between ECM harness connector EM13 terminals No. 27 (Black/Green wire) and No. 19 (Yellow wire), then between terminals No. 28 (Purple wire) and No. 27 (Black/Green wire). (Схема №3) If resistance is more than 10 megohms, reconnect knock sensor harness connectors and go to next step. If resistance is 10 megohms or less, repair short to ground and retest system.
  2. Measure resistance between ECM harness connector EM13 terminals No. 19 (Yellow wire) and No. 28 (Purple wire). If resistance is more than 10 megohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 megohms or less, repair short circuit and retest system.
  3. Check continuity of Purple wire between ECM harness connector EM13 terminal No. 28 and CKP sensor harness connector terminal No. 2. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Purple wire and retest system.
  4. Check continuity of Yellow wire between ECM harness connector EM13 terminal No. 19 and CKP sensor harness connector terminal No. 1. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Yellow wire and retest system.
  5. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ECM harness connector EM13 terminals No. 19 (Yellow wire) and No. 27 (Black/Green wire). If voltage is zero volts, go to next step. If voltage is more than zero volts, repair short to voltage and retest system.
  6. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between crankshaft position sensor Gray and White wire. If resistance is 950-1250 ohms, check CKP sensor for proper installation and for debris on pick-up face. Clean or repair as necessary and retest system. If resistance is not 950-1250 ohms, replace CKP sensor and retest system.
