DTC P1226: MECHANICAL GUARD CIRCUIT RANGE Jaguar XJR II

  1. Check throttle input shaft operation and spring return. Repair as necessary. If throttle input shaft function is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect 5-pin pedal position and mechanical guard sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between harness connector terminals No. 2 (Black/Green wire) and No. 4 (Blue/White wire). (Схема №4) If voltage is 4.75-5.25 volts, system is okay. If voltage is not 4.75-5.25 volts, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector EM11. Check continuity of Black/Yellow wire between ECM harness connector EM11 terminal No. 13 and 5-pin pedal position and mechanical guard sensor harness connector terminal No. 1. (Схема №3) If continuity exists, system is okay. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black/Yellow wire and retest system.
