DTC P0118: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH INPUT (XK8) Jaguar XJR II

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness connector. (Схема №5) Measure resistance between ECT sensor terminals. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, replace ECT sensor and retest system. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and ECT sensor harness connector Blue/Yellow wire. If battery voltage exists, repair short to voltage and retest system. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Measure voltage between ECT sensor harness connector terminals. If voltage is more than 5.2 volts, replace ECM and retest system. If voltage is 5.2 volts or less, system is okay.
