Functional Description

In an emergency, the telematics system transmits an emergency call to the Onstar call centre.

When a safety system is triggered, the airbag control unit transmits a signal to the telematics system, which then starts the emergency call.

In order to manually trigger the emergency call, the telematics system is provided with 3 operating buttons. One on the front of the telematics system, an optionally configurable service button and a directly wired SOS button on the front of the audio system NCDC 2015.

When the emergency call has been transmitted, it is possible to communicate with he call centre via the interior loudspeaker and an external microphone, which is also used as telephone hands-free device.
